Here is the new teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's highly
anticipated final installment of his Batman trilogy, "The Dark
Knight Rises," one of this year's summer blockbusters.
Starring Christian Bale, who returns in the double role of Bruce
Wayne/Batman, this third movie should provide an epic finale to
the saga. Bale is joined by Anne Hathaway this time, who plays
Selina Kyle, also known as the villainous Catwoman.
The film, which takes place eight years after the events of "The
Dark Knight," also introduces the character of Bane, portrayed
by Tom Hardy, another villain from the Batman mythology. Oscar
winner Marion Cotillard appears as Miranda Tate, a Wayne
Enterprises board member; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John
Blake, a cop working for Commissioner Gordon.
British actor Michael Caine will once again play billionaire
Bruce Wayne's faithful butler, Alfred; Gary Oldman returns as
Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Morgan Freeman, who will receive
the Cecile B. DeMille Award at the 69th Golden Globes ceremony
on January 15, as Lucius Fox.
"The Dark Knight Rises," co-scripted by Christopher Nolan and
his brother Jonathan, and based on a story by Nolan himself and
David S. Goyer, was shot in three continents, including
locations in India, England, Scotland, as well as American
cities such as Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles.
This time, Nolan has used IMAX cameras for much of the filming.
As a result, we will see many more high-resolution scenes than
in "The Dark Knight," which was the first major feature film to
be partially shot with this type of camera. The high-quality
images were highly praised by most Batman fans.
"The Dark Knight Rises," a sequel to "Batman Begins" (2005) and
"The Dark Knight" (2008), will be released in North America on
July 20 and in Spain on July 26, 2012.
