Herzogenaurach (Germany) – With the aim of integrating the idea of eco-efficiency into its product cycle, in order to harmonize business practice and the availability of natural resources, Puma has extended its range of sustainable products and launched African-themed fashion collections, featuring apparel made of sustainable cotton from sub-Saharan countries.

By using this high-quality raw material, the German sportswear company supports the Aid by Trade Foundation's "Cotton Made in Africa" initiative which helps improving living conditions of African cotton farmers and their families and makes a solid contribution to the protection of the environment.

"Following our vision of creating a better world, we do our part to improve quality of life and environmental standards in Africa by supporting 'Cotton Made in Africa'," said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman and CEO of Puma.

Cotton in Africa is produced without artificial irrigation due to the poverty, the lack of infrastructure and low water reserves. An efficient use of rainfall is therefore all the more important. The “Cotton Made in Africa“ project wants to create an efficient management of farms by offering training and advice. Techniques such as mulching to keep the soil covered and to prevent such a high-level of evaporation or balanced fertilization are crucial.

From July 2009 on, a collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts will carry the "Cotton Made in Africa" label and will be available in Puma stores worldwide.  Top of Page

Milan (Italy) – 29-year-old Ukranian actress Olga Kurylenko became renowned in the world of cinematography as a result of her Bond-girl role alongside Daniel Craig in "Quantum of Solace."

This summer she is the protagonist of 16 photographs that will comprise the Campari Calendar, one of the world’s most iconic artistic calendars with a limited edition of only 9.999 copies.

The Italian brand has selected the city of Milan as the set for the 11th edition of its almanac, "Campari Milano," which will be unveiled in October. It will feature Olga in the most intriguing places, moments and rituals of the city. On the right and below is a sneak peek with some action-filled behind the scenes photographs.
