Madrid (Spain) – American actress Scarlett Johansson is the new face of Spanish clothing retailer Mango Fall/Winter 2009 ad campaign, replacing her "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" co-star, Penélope Cruz, who has been the image of the brand for the past four seasons.

The ultimate Hollywood classic beauty, who recently dyed her platinum blonde hair to become a brunette, attended a photocall at a deluxe hotel in Madrid in mid-July for the official presentation. During the one-to-one interviews given to the national and international media, Scarlett said she was delighted to collaborate with the Spanish brand.

With her well-established career, Scarlett has shown great versatility in all of her work, playing a wide range of different characters. Her talent has been recognized by such prestigious directors as Woody Allen, Christopher Nolan, Robert Redford, Brian De Palma and Sofia Coppola.

Mango explained that they chose the 24-year-old actress "for her extraordinary personality, which embodies the ideal of the urban, enterprising, daring woman that we target."

During the photo shoot, which took place in Los Angeles, Scarlett showed her sensual hourglass curves in the lens of Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti. One of the adverts features the actress wearing a leopard-print top over a black leather dress.

This season, the Mango wardrobe has clear references to the 1980s. The shoulders are emphasized in suit jackets and outerwear, while the silhouette remains narrow on the bottom half. Skinny-fit trousers, leggings and pencil skirts are key items.  Paris
(France) – Born and raised in Lebanon, Georges Chakra is a visionary designer that has lent his unique fashion sense to celebrities and style enthusiasts alike. Created back in 1985, his label has grown rapidly from a customized local workshop into an international fashion house. Since 2002, he has been biannually presenting his couture line during Paris Fashion Week in France.

Chakra's Fall/Winter 2009-10 couture show was held on July 7 at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine (The City of Architecture and National Heritage) in Paris. The collection revisited the 1920’s era and presented the designer’s styled version of the twenties.

For this season the collection features longer silhouettes. Sparkling jewels adorn the shoulders with sleeves that are either covered in beads or feathers. Dizzying asymmetric cuts accentuate the bare back to make up part of the 'angel wings' design, as plunging V-necks highlight the skin.

Sequins in fine embroidery appear as if caught in a net. Lace straps crisscross the body with luminous gemstones that extend like an intricate spider web, and sleeves rise up in a whirlwind, radiating bursts of rhinestones.

As with the infusion of different textures so too are colors flawlessly intermingled. Blacks shimmer like midnight blue, intense blues merge with teal, burgundy transforms into exuberant red, overlays of khaki and gold glimmer like bronze and grays mix with metallic silver.

Key looks are a black velvet and tulle asymmetrical gown, enhanced with silver foam and leather cubes; and a petrol blue gown embroidered with sequins and pearls.

Passionate about his work, Chakra has created unique dresses for various royals as well as Hollywood celebrities like Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, Helen Mirren, Tyra Banks, and many others. His haute couture collection was also featured in the 2006 hit movie "The Devil Wears Prada," starring Meryl Streep.
