New
York
(USA) – Polo Ralph
Lauren announced early July that it will continue its
relationship with the US Olympic Committee as an official outfitter of
the Olympic and Paralympic teams for the 2010 and 2012 games.
As a continuation of the company’s involvement in the 2008 games in
Beijing, Polo Ralph Lauren will be designing the official opening and
closing ceremony parade outfits for the US teams for both the 2010
winter games in Vancouver and the 2012 games in London. In addition the
luxury lifestyle company has already created a collection of village
wear apparel and accessories that will be provided to the athletes on
these teams.
For the winter games, the iconic American company has designed a
collection of sporting apparel which embodies the spirit of American
sportsmanship. With a nod to the Lake Placid Games of 1932, which took
place in New York, the clothing showcases a classic Americana and
patriotic palette of red, white and blue.
Apparel from the entire collection will be available for sale, along
with a full assortment of the athlete village wear pieces for men, women
and children.
Sweden
(EU) – Since its launch in
1996, Jimmy Choo has been such a phenomenal success
that the brand name is now part of popular culture. In Hollywood, Jimmy
Choo shoes have become a red-carpet essential, and have been worn at the
Oscars by winners such as Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry and Hilary Swank
among many other celebrities.
This autumn, the London-based luxury accessory brand will bring its
covetable shoes and bags to 200 selected H&M stores
across the world.
It is the first time that the Swedish clothing company is collaborating
with an accessories brand. “We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They
are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of
outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the
shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is
particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection,”
said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor for H&M.
This exclusive collection of shoes, bags and other accessories for both
men and women will be available from mid-November.
