Milan (Italy) – Giorgio Armani will once again be the designer of choice for the operatic pop vocal quartet Il Divo on their 2009 world tour. Starting on February 21st in Manchester, UK, it will also celebrate the launch of their new album "The promise."

The collaboration with Mr. Armani dates back to the group's formation in 2003 and again in 2006 for their world tour. Il Divo also performed at the "One night only at Budokan," during the celebration of the opening of the Armani/Ginza Tower in Tokyo in November 2007.

The tour wardrobe will vary from lighter shades of blue and grey single breasted jackets to a dark and austere look, accented with sparkling details on shirts, collars, pocket handkerchiefs and neck ties, to create a dramatic stage effect. The singers have also chosen to wear a selection of classic tuxedos.

Il Divo was formed in late 2003 under the aegis of the iconic "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, who, after conducting a two-year international talent search, discovered David Miller (USA - tenor), Sebastien Izambard (France – vox populi), Urs Buhler (Switzerland – tenor) and Carlos Marín (Spain – baritone), a virtuosic vocal quartet who combined musical mastery with sex appeal.

"They have such a powerful and mesmerizing stage presence that has been a great inspiration to me. I remember the first time I saw them performing live: I was impressed by their elegance and their fascinating way to communicate emotions through their music," said the Italian designer.

Giorgio Armani's collaborations with other artists in the music industry include Eric Clapton, Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Usher, Beyonce, Laura Pausini, John Legend, Razorlight, Craig David, Alicia Keys, and Solange Knowles.
