I think that the key words in that kind of minimal look are luxury and quality. What that means in fashion is that for a garment to be desirable and wearable and aspirational, it has to be really well cut, well finished; and exactly the same thing applies to hair. So, no matter how carefree or minimalist the styling is, the quality of the hair is really important: it has to be well cut, well conditioned and well finished. Is this a good time to be creative with hair? Absolutely. Hair is a very creative medium mainly in the way that we at Vidal Sassoon approach it. We do so in a very simple, natural kind of way. I think you could describe the Vidal Sassoon look, and particularly the look of the season, as a very heroic one. By heroic I mean very strong, very graphic, and almost architectural. Thereafter, it depends on the natural texture of the hair and the personality of the woman who wears the haircut. Your hair is the ultimate fashion statement. Youre OK with clothes and make-up whatever, but your hair is the thing that is with you the whole time. We have seen a lot of straight hair in the past seasons.
Is this trend beginning to change or can we expect to see much more of it in the near
future? What products help
achieve this look?
