Color Institute

by Freddy Galiani  edited by Barbara Barker

"What you see on the runway ends up in every sector," says Leatrice Eiseman, color consultant and executive director of the Pantone Color Institute (a US-based company dedicated to international color standards which are used in a variety of fields from graphic design and fashion to printing, even car manufacturing). She has also written several books on color.

Eiseman is in New York for Fashion Week. I ask her how she came to be an important consultant in the color business. She says she was "a child entranced by color," which led to the study fashion and interior design, a degree in psychology, eventually specializing in the psychology of color.
