Ayako creates the makeup for Lloyd Klein

Ayako: The concept behind this makeup is a very simple, yet strong look, much in the line of Lloyd's designs, which are very couture, very edgy, but simple at the same time.

This makeup focuses on the eye -it's the strongest point-, but instead of doing a lot of color, I've applied false top eyelashes, which are patent leather and very shiny. The idea is to complement all the patent leather you see on Lloyd's clothes.

Fashionclick: What colors have you used on the eyes?

Ayako:
On some models, we've lined the inside rim of the lower lash line in black, and applied blue and pink shadows on the lids.

Fashionclick: And on the lips?

Ayako: They are done up with a very beige-ish sheer lipstick, so as to keep the attention on the eyes. On the other hand, the cheeks are very contoured, in shades similar to the model's own skin tone. Tope de página

Richard Dalton hairstylist for Lloyd Klein

Richard: The concept behind Lloyd's clothes is awesome sophistication -they are incredibly beautiful-, so we decided on the sort of sophistication of a chignon, but still with a sexy dishevel that we achieve by adding pieces in the front that hand down and frame the face.

For the girls with short hair, we've used a lot of product to gel the hair back and leave it very shiny, and almost as if the chignon was there. Then, we've added all sorts of wisps of hair underneath on the front just for the sexy softness.

Fashionclick: This winter bangs are all the rage...

Richard: Yes. Last season we saw a lot of the '70's and 80's looks, but now the haircuts are much softer and very pointed out, sort of wispy around the hair line, which I think looks great.

Fashionclick: Any tips for someone who wants to wear their hair like that?

Richard: I never like to say that long hair, short hair or medium length hair is in. It's up to the individual woman who is actually wearing it, because every woman is beautiful and their hair should enhance that beauty. And that's what we are seeing on a lot of shows this season. So, right now we have everything from Afros to tight chignons, to short hair, so it's strictly across the board. Tope de página
