New York (USA) - "Woman To Woman" is the name of the magazine published by the Donna Karan Company twice a year. Meant as a value-added communications tool to enhance the brand's image, this spring's issue serves not only as catalogue for the firm (showing 25 of the spring/summer 2001 catwalk looks as well as backstage photographs), but also features images from its new advertising campaign.

Shot by photographer Mikael Jansson, it presents Milla Jovovich and Jeremy Irons immersed in a passionate love story in an exotic, almost movie-like, Vietnam. The resulting images lend a refreshing twist to fashion photography, managing to convey a story in each photograph the way that only good actors can. In fact, the magazine mentions that many of Mr. Iron's most seductive moves were of his own invention.

The pictures were shot in several locations in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City (previously Saigon) and Hanoi, and the production counted with the aid of the team behind Jean-Jacques Annaud's film "The Lover" (1992), based on the classic novel by Marguerite Duras.

Donna Karan comments, "From the moment I saw the results I was blown away. It was exactly the mood I wanted to convey, the emotion and sensuality of Milla and Jeremy intensely came through."

This new issue of "Woman to Woman" also includes images of the designer's spring accessories, an article featuring her new home collection, an interview with Jeremy Irons and much more.

All of this makes "Woman to Woman" a publication worth getting a hold of and collecting. Its spring 2001 issue - 300,000 copies - was handed out amongst the attendees to the Donna Karan autumn/winter 2001-02 show in New York and will also be sent out to the companies' retail accounts and mailing list.

In related news, Donna Karan will open its new Urban Zen-inspired flagship store at 819 Madison Avenue in Manhattan this spring. Top of page

New York (USA) - The high-tech eyewear line Silhouette Titan Minimal Art has been expanded this year with the presentation of their new Polarized Performance sunglasses.

Based on Austrian designer, Gerhard Fuchs', revolutionary hingeless temple design, the new models feature the ultimate in lens technology: 12-layer polarized polycarbonate lens. Their exclusive construction eliminates those uncomfortable and potentially dangerous light reflections on water, snow, the beach or the pavement. Once the glare is removed, the eyes' visual scope is dramatically enhanced enabling a greater depth of vision and allowing objects to be seen that were previously imperceptible to the naked eye.

With this, the range offers the highest optical quality as far as visual clarity is concerned, adding to the full UV ray protection Silhouette's Titan Minimal Art collection already offered. This makes them ideal for activities such as driving, cycling, sailing and golfing.

The new models are undoubtedly a direct result of the fact that Mr. Fuchs is acquainted and in touch with the needs of active people who, like him, practice sports and are regular users of eyewear.

Titan Minimal Art Polarized Performance features its hingeless temple design coupled with the most advanced techniques in the use of pure titanium. Weighting in at .07 Oz. (1,98 grams) it is the world's lightest eyewear. Top of page
