Evening
Look
Impactful Eyes, Lips with a Hint of Color
Starting
out from our afternoon look, we are now going to create a more sophisticated
one for evening. We respect Raquel's previous makeup thinking of all of
you who simply have the time for a touch-up before going out.
The
focus of this look is going to be on the eyes, not on the lips as we
did in the previous makeup. Therefore, we will only tone-up the
blush and apply deeper colors on the eyes. When eyes are dramatic,
keeping the rest of the face soft gives it a modern balance.
In
many of the international shows, such as those of Carolina Herrera and
Chanel, makeup artists went for very strong cat eyes. Although this is a
very sexy and tremendously au courant look, it is
important to know that it does not favor all types of faces. Thus, you
must be careful when deciding to wear it.
For
example, oblong faces - such as Raquel's - are not flattered by this
makeup. The reason is that the use of dark shadows on the outer ends of
the eyes will tend to thin the face. This is also the case with inverse
triangle faces (jawbone wider than the temple area,) on which, this
option would make the upper part of the face even thinner.
Yet,
if you have an oval-shaped or heart-shaped face (where the temple area
is wider than the jawbone ending on a somewhat pointed chin,) you will
be able to wear this makeup knowing it will look great on you. Once
more, as you can see, your natural facial features will determine what -
and what not - to do.

If
you want to go for the cat eye look, follow these steps: apply
eyeliner along the top lashline making it thinner in the inner corner
and wider on the outer one. Then, run an eye shadow brush
to soften the line. Next, line your bottom lashline and extend
that line until
it connects with the one you created on the upper eyelid. Make
sure you blend well. |
How
to Achieve It -

Jose
Ramón covers the entire eye area, from upper lashes to brows with Clinique
High Impact Eye Shadow in Chiffon, as a highlighter. He then blends
on lids a shimmery gray shadow, Lancôme Color Focus mono
eyeshadow in Moonstone,
taking it up to the eyebrow and extending it towards the temples.
Once again, given Raquel's face is oblong, we must try,
with the use of color, to widen her face. Thus it is not a wise
idea to extend the dark eye shadow too far towards the temples, which would make
it look thinner. When very little of that gray hue remains on the
applicator, Mon runs it gently onto the under eye area.
As
an extra touch, he
pats a tiny amount of Estée Lauder Two-In-One Eyeshadow in
Dove Grey,
on the brow bone to add light and open up the eye.
Then,
he strengthens the makeup with black liquid eyeliner - a strong trend this
season - although we must keep in mind that it must be done very softly
for the street so that it does not look too harsh. We have chosen Super Liner
in black nº01 from L'Oréal,
which Mon draws as close to the
base of the top lashes as possible - beginning at the inner eye and
extending it slightly beyond the outer corner (see image).
For
a dramatic finish, curled top and bottom lashes are elongated with Chanel Drama Lash
Mascara in Onyx.
As to
the blush, we use the same hue as before, L'Oréal Prune Glaceé
nº03,
but make it more intense this time.
And
for the finishing touch, Mon tones down the lips to center all
the attention on the eyes. He colors them with a soft rosy hue, L'Oréal
Colour Riche in Aerial, dotting gloss on the center of the
bottom lip to create a perfect pout and enhance its fullness.

People
with deep-set eyes should avoid drawing a wide line with the eyeliner
because this will only increase the effect. In
this case, the best thing to do is to use lighter eye shadows, as they highlight
and make areas come forward. And, if you want to strengthen the look, try using a
softer-looking brown eyeliner. In
the case of protruding eyes, the use of eyeliner
is very recommended. Draw its line a little wider.
Dark colors make areas recede, thus, your eyes will
seem to protrude less.
