Afternoon Look
Dramatic Lips, Neutral Eyes

This year's autumn/winter fashion celebrates the return of urban elegance. We have seen it in the makeup concepts developed for shows such as that of Michael Kors. The feminine woman is back, and with her, the sophistication of strong and sensuous lip-shades like red, burgundy, plum or fuchsia.

Following this trend, and for our next makeup, the afternoon one, we want to achieve a look that will take us easily into the evening glamour, in these months in which we continue to be active while there are less hours of daylight. 

We will simply emphasize Raquel's lips with a darker lip color, leaving her eyes in the soft hues they have from the previous look. We opt for Chanel Velvet Creme Lipstick in Velvet Vamp.

Whenever you use vibrant lip colors, as we have done in this case, make sure the final result looks impeccable. Any mistake you make will be obvious. Choose a lip liner pencil that matches your lipstick closely to avoid the color from "bleeding" at the edges. Afterwards, apply a first coat of color, blot using a tissue and reapply with a lip brush. In this way, you will achieve a more intense and longer-lasting result.

And do not forget that high-contrast lip liners are guaranteed to look dated. 

For the afternoon, and following the current trends, we have decided to do Raquel's nails. This season's nails come short and slightly squared, painted with deep tones complementing those of the lips.

If you decide to wear one of these bold colors, it is especially important that your hands be moisturized and manicured, and remember to paint them carefully because they will surely be an attention-getter; whatever mistakes you make will not be missed. For our model we have chosen Maybelline Express Finish Nail Enamel in Daring Berry.

When doing your lips do not forget to fill-in the corners of the mouth. Not many women do so and when they speak or smile an unpainted space is seen, which looks sloppy and unflattering.
